Bored at home-Paper Crafts

Since I've been at home for the past 2days I decided to go over to Macula Art and print some paper crafts. I find them fun and its a great way to pass time. These can be printed on recycled paper. What a way to be greener in style!

This "Vandalized Nurikabe" was fairly easy to do and very colorful. It took me about 2 hours to complete and the end result was this wonderful little guy. You can print 1 out and try it yourself.

This little guy is called "Chibi Paper Toy Blank." He took approximately 3-4 hours to do because of all the detailed cuts and little tabs. It was hard to get him to stand up and take these shots because he has such stubby little feet to hold up his body and huge head.
If you want to make him print him out here.

Overall, I enjoyed the challenge of these paper crafts and after I finished I couldn't wait to show them off to you guys! Enjoy and I look forward to see works you have made.

Cross Stitching

Today I decided to do an easy craft since it was a rainy day yet again in NYC. Its been raining for week here and I'm really tired of it. This is a fun activity when you're stuck home with nothing better to do. I spent my day doing this and at the end I felt accomplished! That's the best feeling ever.

Here are the pictures of my entire process.

Yes my Octopus got some acupuncture action going on.

Here I have only completed the yellow part.

The orange beak is completed along with its feet.

Here is the blue completed for the music notes.

In this photo I've added the details with the black fabric so the duck is more visible.

This is the final product!

Hope you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more fun stuff =]

Kids, Origami, and Apple Keynote!

So today I volunteered to watch some foster children while their parents were at a meeting. They were such wonderful kids ranging from 5 to 10 years old. They learned how to make a paper crane and I've never seen a crowd as excited as they were. Before we even began our lesson they already asked me about how to do origami. I was so excited to teach them, but they were kids so they had very short attention spans.

We also watched Tom and Jerry cartoons and the kids reactions were priceless. Some children were scared of the mummy chasing them while others screamed because a skulls head was talking. Kids are so wonderful!

So on another note who was excited about the Apple Keynote today? I was!!! Apple has stole my heart with the new iPhone 3G S and Macbook Pros. Can you believe the Snow Leopard is going to be just $29, WOW! I currently own a white Macbook and I love it, but I cannot wait to get my hands on the new 13" Macbook Pro (hopefully ^_~)! I'm even considering to ditch my Blackberry Curve for the iPhone 3G S.

You have to watch the keynote its wonderful!

Are you excited to get the iPhone 3G S?
