DIY Lucky Star Tutorial

This is the moment we've all been waiting for!! It's the origami star tutorial! Hope its helpful to you because it has detailed pictures and steps to go about making your very own lucky star.

First, find a long about strip of paper about the long side of a loose-leaf paper (you can cut a strip from a loose-leaf or use scrap paper).
This picture just shows you both sides of the origami paper (a side with pictures and a blank side).

You want to make a loop on one end just like a ribbon. Make sure that the side with pictures is on the bottom!

Here's a close-up of the ribbon.

Now, you want to keep a finger down to hold the paper steady.

Fold the tip in the loop to make a knot.

Use a finger to hold it down.

While holding the tip down, use your other hand and pull the long strip of paper in the direction of the arrow.

After you get a close enough knot, press it down and make a crease.
This is side 1.

Here is side 2.

Now you want to fold in the little piece of paper sticking out.

Flip the paper back over and this is how it's going to look like.

The line I drew on the tail is where you need to fold.

This is how it should look when you fold it in.

You continue folding it that way, while matching the corners.

Keep folding the paper until you reach a spot that you can't fold anymore.

Now, hold down the star and slip the left over tail into the folds.

Here is the final "fattening" process of the star.
Using your fingers, push each flat side of the star in to puff the star up.

After you puff up all the sides, you should have your very own lucky star!

If you have questions please leave your comments below.
Enjoy your lucky star and share it with your friends and family!! =]

NYC Metrocard 2

Its been a month already!! Time for a new monthly Metrocard, which means I'm $89 poorer. Curse you MTA for making my travel so expensive!!

This time I drew another Minion because they're just too cute! :) I drew the tall guy, anyone know his name? It was so hard to catch their names in the movie.
I drew the Minion really dark on my Metrocard and then I placed the receipt over it to stamp it on. I'm just lazy to re-draw it again.

I can't wait until the Despicable Me DVD comes out so I can watch it over and over again with my boyfriend. We absolutely LOVE the movie!!

Any suggestions as to what I should draw for next month's card?

Money Saving Tips + Free Ziploc starter kit

As a college student we all try to save as much money as we can. I'm a commuter to college and school food just doesn't compare to home cooked meals. I like to bring my lunches and snacks using plastic containers or Ziploc sandwich bags.

I bring rice with some meat and vegetables occasionally for lunch. As for snacks sometimes I bring cut up fruits or whole fruits. There's always a bottle of water in my bag so I don't have to worry about buying drinks at school and plus NYC tap water is one of the best in the world! All in all I'd say I'm way healthier during school time than vacations and now you can be too!

Right@Home is offering free
Ziploc starter kits for the first 10,000 users that respond. Hurry and get yours now!!

My Birthday

For my birthday, my wonderful boyfriend made me the most delicious cake ever! We loved the cake and he's the best boyfriend ever!! :D
I also made myself a Minion from Despicable Me just in time for the cake. You can see that he wanted the cake really bad and my teddy bear is drooling too!

They got a piece too! :D.

As for the other Minion I made earlier for my friend, I wrapped him up in a nice box.
She was so surprised when she opened the gift!! Peek-a-boo!!! :P

Despicable Me Review & Paper Craft!

I saw Despicable me finally and I loved it! Like everyone else, I would have loved it even more if the movie was a bit longer. Throughout the movie I looked for the scenes that included the Minions. Gru was an awesome character They're so irresistibly cute! I wish they were real life!! All I can say is the movie was great, awesome characters and you laugh your way through the whole movie.

I made another Paper Craft of a Minion. It took 2days but it was so much fun! I made this as a birthday gift for my best friend! Hope you guys enjoy it too!

Love them Post-its!

I'd like to inform you guys about a freebie from Post-its. Just fill in your info and wait for your free Post-its to arrive in the mail! I always have them handy by my computer desk so I can grab them when someone calls me or just jot down cool ideas from the web.

I used Post-its all over my house when I went away to vacation. I left my boyfriend notes by my bed, the bathroom mirror, the laptop, TV, and so many more random places. It's fun, exciting and most of all it makes him happy!

DIY Tip: Instead of buying those funky shaped Post-its, you can cut the shapes out yourself. It's a fun project and saves you money!!

Enjoy the free sample and have fun with them!

Wish all you mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day!! Mom's work so hard to cook, work, clean, and take care of their kids. We need to give back to them, but everyday should be mother's day really. I hope you help your mom out with chores and cooking.
