Thoughts on the iPad

I was eager to see what Apple had to offer and I personally had some high expectations for them. We all expected them to release a tablet of some sort perhaps called the iSlate? But to our surprise they named it the iPad...my first thought was "you mean the feminine hygiene product?" I was very disappointed with the name, why not name it the iSlate? I mean that would sound so much better! Just look at twitter and clearly the majority of people were unhappy with that name.

Interface sucks?
I expected a new interface "build from the ground up" as they like to say. They are building apps fromm the ground up so they can better work with the iPad, what about the interface? Why not have a new interface for this new device.
There is so much space between the icons (maybe bigger icons to fill in the space? I'm not an expert but I want to see something brand new) and makes us all feel like its a blown up iTouch as shown here.

I'm hesitant to buy it, mainly because the name does bother me and doesn't seem too different from the iPhone...still no flash. I'll just stick with my iPhone and all will be well.

What do you think about the iPad? Do you think it's affordable?

Back to school...

Well school has officially started and so far classes are great and things are progressing smoothly.

I'm taking a Photography class this semester, to enhance my digital photo taking skills as well as editing them in Photoshop. This class is very close to my heart because my boyfriend is a photographer and I'd like to learn more about what he does so we can do some photoshoots together.
I will be sharing my works with you and documenting the entire process here. In a mean time here are some pictures for you to see. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22585001@N05/

The Origami tutorials will be up as soon as I have the time to do them.

I recently got a new (twitter bird looking) wristlet and its so nice. I'm going to attempt to make it one of these days. When I do decide to make it, I'll be sure to show you guys the process.
For now you can admire the pretty picture of it. :)

Bored at home-Paper Crafts

Since I've been at home for the past 2days I decided to go over to Macula Art and print some paper crafts. I find them fun and its a great way to pass time. These can be printed on recycled paper. What a way to be greener in style!

This "Vandalized Nurikabe" was fairly easy to do and very colorful. It took me about 2 hours to complete and the end result was this wonderful little guy. You can print 1 out and try it yourself.

This little guy is called "Chibi Paper Toy Blank." He took approximately 3-4 hours to do because of all the detailed cuts and little tabs. It was hard to get him to stand up and take these shots because he has such stubby little feet to hold up his body and huge head.
If you want to make him print him out here.

Overall, I enjoyed the challenge of these paper crafts and after I finished I couldn't wait to show them off to you guys! Enjoy and I look forward to see works you have made.
